J is on a brief summer break before he goes off to Kindergarten. We are enjoying spending time together as a family and just hanging out. He is such a curious and thoughtful little man. With so much time together, his inquisitive mind is always at work. Here are some of the funnier conversations we've had:
J: Where does the Tooth Fairy get all her money?
M: I'm not sure, maybe the bank?
J: Wow, she must have a big piggy bank.
J: Does Jesus play videogames?
M: I'm not sure, but probably not in heaven.
J: What does he do for fun then?
M: Hmmmm, pray, eat bread.
J: I think he does play or else it wouldn't be fun up there. Probably the Batman Lego game.
J: Does God use a Lego Manual to build us?
M: Umm, I don't think he does.
J: Well then how does he know what we are going to look like and what pieces to put together?
M: He just does.
J: We read a funny book at school today.
M: Oh really what was it called?
J: Diarrhea of a Worm
M: You mean Diary of a Worm
J (Laughing hysterically): Yeah Diarrhea of a Worm
The funniest and sweetest is every night J will ask me and Daddy - "Are you going to turn into a Monster or Bad Alien?" And we always say "NO". And somehow this is very comforting to him. It's the question he needs to get answered before he can go to bed. Love the way the 5 year old mind works! And as you can see in these exchanges Mommy is usually ill equipped to handle these questions, but luckily being 5 he still believes that Mommy and Daddy know everything. Wonder what age that will change? Hopefully never!
